AUTUMN EVENTS NEAR MONTFAIR

Montfair is the perfect base for celebrating the bounty of Fall in Virginia, whether you like apple-picking, listening to bluegrass or savoring an Oktoberfest brew. Here are some fun activities happening in our area this October:

For Kids: Apple picking at Chiles Orchard and Carter’s Mountain. Chiles offers the Family Pancake Breakfast October 10^th and 11^th and Carter’s Mountain is a great spot for majestic sunset views over Charlottesville.

For History Lovers: Tour the beautiful grounds of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and take a guided Natural History Walk, October 9^th. Or sample from an array of local and heirloom apples presented by “Professor Apple” Tom Burford during the Apple Tasting at Tufton Farm, October 17^th.

For Beer Lovers: Soak in the mountain views at Blue Mountain Brewery for OktoberFest, October 1^st -11^th or at Starr Hill Brewery, October 10^th.

For the Artsy: Head to Crozet Park for the Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival, October 10^th and 11^th where you’ll find over 100 Fine Arts exhibitors, food and drink vendors and live music.

For Foodies: Here’s a day dedicated entirely to the persimmon. Enjoy tastings, live music, tours and more at the Persimmon Festival at Edible Landscaping, October 31^st.
