DESCRIPTION:Bring along your sketchbook\, paints\, or camera and spend the day nature journaling\, drawing\, or plein air painting! Stop by the main office anytime between 9 AM and 4 PM to sign a quick liability release and pick up a trail map before heading out. \n \nYou’ll have 120 acres and 1.5 miles of woodland trails to explore\, filled with native plants\, trees\, natural wetlands\, and even a beaver lodge. Please keep in mind: life vests are required for everyone while canoeing\, and children under 18 must be with an adult. Be sure to follow posted canoe area rules\, practice “leave no trace\,” and show respect for wildlife along the way. \nMontfair is also open for recreational day use Sunday-Thursday for just $5 per person. Enjoy hiking\, fishing\, or paddling out on the water. Trail maps are available at the front office. Want a closer look? Whether you’re an experienced artist or a curious beginner\, this workshop will give you the tools to see nature in a whole new way. \nWe will also be sketching in the new riparian buffer planting at the Montfair Resort Farm pond to showcase the importance of riparian buffers to vegetation\, wildlife and recreation. \nThis event is free and open to all\, but registration is required.
