Located on 129 acres at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia minutes from the Shenandoah National Park, 15 miles from Charlottesville, UVA and 40 minutes from Monticello. The beautiful lakeside events lodge wedding reception venue and a wedding field with 365 degree mountain views or the lakeside lawn with a mountain view of Pasture Fence Mountain are ideal for weddings of 100 guests to 200 guests. Onsite vacation cottages with Wi-Fi will sleep 54 of your guests. Family and friends will find a peaceful atmosphere to hike and bike on a beautiful nature trail system, and canoe and fish on a spring-fed lake. Enjoy an evening bonfire, a clear dark night sky for star gazing, yard games and bird watching. We are passionate about preserving the habitat of our beautiful family-owned and operated property. We encourage couples and organizations to utilize Montfair’s long list of local and green- friendly event vendors, utilize recycling and composting services and avoid plastics. Each wedding embodies nature as part of the celebration!
What else does Montfair do to benefit nature and your wedding? A native plant pollinator garden flanks the Montfair Wedding Field. The constantly changing blooms will be a magical back drop to your most important wedding photos. Each year we add drought resistant natives that grow best in the acidic dry soils of our area. We work with Hummingbird Hill Native Plant Nursery purchasing local genotype native plants for our wedding field garden and also to strengthen our habitat corridors throughout the property.
