Can I visit more than once?
Of course! Visit as often as you’d like, but please schedule your visits with us ahead of time so we can be prepared for you.
Is there a required minimum to be spent on food and beverages?
No. We also do not have any restrictions on your choice of vendors.
Does the Event Lodge have climate control? Yes, the Event Lodge has newly installed central air that provides air conditioning and heat.
Can wedding guests camp at Montfair?
Yes. We allow camping for $24/tent on the lakefront or the price for ten tents can be included in the price of the wedding package.
Which nights can my wedding guests camp?
Your guests can camp any night that you have rented the Event Lodge. On nights that you have not rented the Lodge, please contact Montfair for more information about your camping options.
What is the maximum capacity of Montfair’s accommodations?
54. Maximum capacity is 31 if each guest has their own bed.
What is the maximum capacity of the Event Lodge for seated dining?
Within the Event Lodge: 120-130; On the tented deck: 75
What employee services are offered by Montfair on my wedding day?
A Montfair employee will be available throughout your wedding to direct guest parking, communicate with vendors, clean facilities, tend fires and make sure that your wedding is running smoothly.
Is there a bridal suite?
There is a modest space in our main office to be used as bridal dressing room. We recommend, however, the use of the Beauchamp House with its large open spaces and beautiful light. Both the main office and Beauchamp House are next to the ceremony field.
Are tables and chairs included?
Yes.
Is table and chair set-up included?
No. Most caterers provide the set up for tables and chairs.
Are linens/cutlery/plates included?
No.
Can I decorate to my preference?
Yes, but please no nails or tacks in the walls and beams. All decorations must be removed at the end of your event.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
In the event of rain, you could hold your ceremony inside of the Event Lodge or on the large, tented lake-view deck. You may also rent a separate tent to put on the lake-front.
How many ceremony site options does Montfair have?
Many Montfair couples choose to use the mountain view wedding field for their ceremony, but you may also choose to use the grassy lake-front, the Event Lodge, or the tented lake-view deck.
POST-BOOKING
Is there a fee for my ceremony rehearsal?
No. The rehearsal the day before your wedding is included in the venue rental fee.
Can I have a bonfire on Friday night before my wedding?
Yes, if you purchase a Weekend or Destination wedding or a rehearsal dinner. For a Saturday (12hr) Afternoon-Evening wedding, the bonfire area (and camping) is only available if you have rented the Event Lodge for a Friday night rehearsal dinner.
I had more/less guests than I thought I would. What happens now?
You can refer to your wedding contract to see the price ranges available for your wedding. Your final payment will be based on the range that your wedding size fits. We will call you five weeks before your wedding date for your final count. Your final payment will reflect your final guest count as of the five week deadline.
When is my first deposit due?
Two weeks from the date the contract is sent to you.
When is my final payment due?
One month before the date of your wedding.
Do I plan my own set-up and clean up or does Montfair do this?
Montfair does not offer set-up, clean-up, or trash services. This is a service that is usually provided by your caterer. You will need to plan for this.
What is the cancellation policy for weddings and other events?
Cancellations can be made up to eight months prior to an event with a full refund minus a $1,000.00 processing fee.
What if there is inclement weather or a storm on the day of my event?
Montfair does not refund for cancellation due to severe weather. Traveler’s insurance does offer weather event coverage and we highly recommended it.
Does Montfair require event insurance?
Yes. Montfair requires event insurance that meets these requirements: The Lessee must provide a Certificate of Insurance with a minimum of general liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence with a $2,000,000 aggregate; naming Emerald Hills, LLC DBA Montfair Resort Farm as an additional insured. If alcohol is provided or served by the Lessee or guests, then liquor liability in the amount of $1,000,000 must be obtained which should also include the additional insured clause. This insurance should usually cost $300-$400 per event or can be purchased for less through a homeowner’s policy.
