Contours of Community: Digitally Mapping Brown’s Cove

Join us for the inaugural session in a series to be held in association with the Albemarle County Historic Preservation Committee and Preservation Piedmont. Dr. J. Jacob Calhoun will guide the audience through a digital exploration of the spaces, structures, and stories of Brown’s Cove, Albemarle County. Using ArcGIS, Calhoun and ACHS interns have recently completed the first phase of this special research project and will be presenting on it publicly for the first time. The talk will include a demonstration of an interactive map of Brown’s Cove, a historical timeline of the region, and a collection of StoryMaps.
