Montfair Resort Farm is a Fully Certified Virginia Green Travel Partner by the Virginia Green Travel Alliance, and a Certified Member of Green America and The International Ecotourism Society.
Green Vacations: Our cedar cottages, originally built in the 1960’s, have been renovated using green building materials and supplies. Montfair utilizes green cleaning supplies, no bleach in our laundry, recycled toilet paper and eco-friendly toiletries. We save water and energy with an optional linen service.
Green Weddings and Events: We encourage couples and organizations to utilize Montfair’s long list of local and green-friendly event vendors.
Nature Trail System and Native Plant Pollinator Garden: Montfair’s natural habitat, native pollinator garden, trail system, lake, canoes and bikes offer guests safe, and fun opportunities to experience land preservation first hand.

Caspar Eco-Friendly Mattress in the Pawpaw A-Frame Cottage, #7 Dogwood Cottage, #8 Sassafras Cottage and locally made organic latex mattresses by Savvy Rest featured in #2 Butternut Cottage, #5 Hazelnut Cottage and #6 Sycamore Cottage.
Provide eco-friendly dish soap by Meyers Clean Day and complimentary eco-friendly toiletries in recyclable containers.
Use low flow faucets and toilets in cottages and lodge.
Laundry washed with Bi-O-Kleen, a powdered laundry detergent free of bleach and chlorine.
We recommend choosing a cater who provides composting for weddings and events through NOPE.
Provide complimentary Shenandoah Joe’s organic shade grown locally roasted coffee and organic teas.
Use FCS and recycled paper for all office printing.
Montfair purchases energy through the Dominion Energy Green Power Program.
Use of LED and compact fluorescent light bulbs in our cottages, lodge, and office.
We purchase Energy Star appliances.
