There’s no doubt about it; Montfair steeps in creative energy. It helps that the founding family, the Sheridans, have had the arts in their blood for generations. Step into the office and you’ll see landscape paintings by co-owner Leora Vincenti and drawings and rustic chairs made by her brother and co-owner, Joe Sheridan.
When Leora and her husband Dave began to breathe new life into Montfair fifteen years ago, they envisioned the Events Lodge as a space not only for weddings, but also for community gatherings, workshops and retreats.
“We’re excited at Montfair to be at a point now where we can further develop our event programming and support of local artists,” says Leora.
After a successful workshop in February with Steven Martyn of the Sacred Gardener School, Montfair will continue to fill the lodge with eager learners during two upcoming art workshops:
Impressions from Nature: Block Printing on Fabric
March 25th, 11am–4pm
Learn the practice and technique of fabric block printing during this workshop hosted by local artists Emily Vanderlinden and Susanna Byrd.
Rustic Furniture Workshop with Joe Sheridan
May 6th and 7th, 9am–3pm
Master Artisan Joe Sheridan teaches this two-day class where participants will learn the techniques of rustic chair making.
We can’t wait to see what attendees of these workshops create! Hope to see you there!
